August 2026 Update

Share

It’s been a great summer at Pickcode. We had a lot of fun meeting folks from the community at CSTA New Orleans, and we’ve had a lot of time to make improvements to the platform. The school year is fast approaching, and we’re excited to be working with everyone to get set up with Pickcode for the fall.

Improved login system

We’re rolling out the new login system over the course of August, which will keep you and your students logged in for much longer in addition to allowing us to develop additional enhancements in the future.

You should notice almost no difference, except people who have created accounts with a password will just be asked to update their password when they’re moved to the new system. If you’ve been logging in with Google, you won’t notice any changes.

Important: If your school has strict firewall rules, they’ll need to add https://auth.app.pickcode.io to their network allowlist.

Pricing update

Existing customers who are renewing will stay with the pricing structure they signed up with.

Our pricing structure in 2026 has been $500/teacher and $5/student per semester. We will be updating prices to $500/teacher/year + $7/student per semester effective October 1. We’ll honor the pricing on any quote requested prior to October 1st. This will not effect any existing customers who are renewing.

Fall conference schedule

This fall we’ll be sponsoring a few conferences and if you’re in the New England or New York, you should come and say hi!

  • Processing Community Day on Saturday October 3rd at the NYU Interactive Telecommunications Program in New York City
  • CSTA New England on Saturday November 7th in Portland, ME
  • CSTA New York on Saturday November 14th at SUNY New Palz

If you’re a CSTA organizer or have another conference and want a sponsor, let us know and we can see if we can make it.

Python Processing (Beta)

We’ve added a new Python project type: Processing. With this project type, you can write Python code that’s very similar to p5.js. This works just like the Processing version that was used on trinket.io, but updated for Python 3. To access this library, select Python for language, click Other for project type and select Processing (not Graphics). We’ll incorporate Processing into normal Graphics projects soon.
